There’s no better way to turn a regular day into a celebration than to start out with a mimosa. To celebrate International Mead Day – start it off with a Meadmosa. Get it…you change the Mi with Mead. Get it. No seriously, go get one for yourself. This recipe should help you on your way to a good day.
Ingredients
- 6 oz sparkling mead
- 2 oz orange juice
- Splash of cointreau liqueur (optional)
- fresh fruit
Instructions
Pour the mead into a champaign flute. You can use most any sparkling mead. I’d recommend either Moonlight Meadery Je T’aime or Bos Meadery Pomegranate Pyment. Two meads that would pair quite nicely with the orange juice and give you very different, equally delicious results. Add the orange juice and a splash of the orange cointreau liqueur for a nice added kick.
Garnish with fresh fruit. I usually select the fruit based on the mead type. When in doubt, strawberries, raspberries and blueberries all work great.
Cheers to starting the day on the right foot!

This sounds delicious! I love mead. My favorite is by Moonlight Meadery – their Kurt’s Apple Pie. I’ll have to add Je T’aime to my list to try.
