This is the first of hopefully many posts in a new “Mead Movement” series. Mead is making big moves these days, with more and more commercial meaderies popping up over the globe. To commemorate the movement in the industry, I will be making tasteful animated gifs (no dancing babies or waving flags here) that display products, companies, and people instrumental in the contemporary advancement of mead.
This installment of Mead Movement focuses on Moonlight Meadery. Moonlight makes and distributes their 62 (that’s right, 62) meads nationwide from their shop in Londonderry, NH. If you ever find yourself in NH, definitely stop by for a tour and tasting. Moonlight was founded by Michael Fairbrother to bring premium meads to the marketplace. Fairbrother and Moonlight Meadery have played a huge role in the advancement of the mead industry through the distribution of not only their quality meads but also their passion.
Raise a glass to Michael Fairbrother and Moonlight Meadery for their part in the Mead Movement!
The photo (nabbed from Running on Peanut Butter) shows Fairbrother holding a bottle of Bouquet, a sweet metheglin with a touch of Saffron spices.
For more information check out my post about my visit to Moonlight Meadery along with their website moonlightmeadery.com.
Who do you think has played a big role in the mead movement? Leave a comment below and let me know and let’s keep the industry moving forward!
